Notes for Aaron Loomis:
Aaron Loomis moved to Torrington as early as 1739 and was one of the
committee to divide Torrington lands in 1742.  He was one of the original
settlers of the town.  He signed the memorial for the establishment of the
church at Torrington in October 1739.  On May 6, 1744 he was received into
the church with his wife Deborah and his children, Aaron Jr, Mindwell and
Esther.  His home in Torrington stood on the present Goshen Road.

There is a discrepancy regarding Joanna's death.  Miss Pritchard of
Waterbury says that she died April 20, 1788, age 85.  Also, the death record
of Joanna Loomis Porter corresponds almost exactly with the birth record of
Joanna Loomis, Waterbury, CT. I've left her death as July 19, 1788, as per
the Loomis Family in America.
