Surviving are his widow Rosetta: four daughters; Mrs. Leora Pickard of Constantine, Mrs. Mary Whiting and Mrs. Hazel Whiting, both of Alpine and Mrs. Hanna Bowman of Grand Rapids, two sons Evert and Eugene Wilson of Grand Rapids, twenty grandchildren four great grandchildren and one brother , Joseph Wilson of Grand Rapids. The Body was removed to Jolderama & Sons Funeral Home 833 Grandville-av S.W. where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. In the 1880 federal census, Rosetta and James Wilson were living in Robinson, Ottawa Co., MI, next to Eli Eastway. Also in the home was their daughter, Anna Wilson, b. July, 1879. Charles Anson Reacalls: I remember going with the folks to both Jim's and his wifes Funeral's, I was about five years old, so what I'm giving you is that recollection, and what little I've heard over the years from various sources. I do know that when he was let out at the New York central, he came to live with Grandpa and Grandma Whiting. My Dad said that Grandpa, paid for both their funeral's, and that they were buried in Alipine. As I recall it Grandma Wilson died first, and Grandpa Wilson not too long after that. A man did not get a pension in those days, so Jim would have had very little to live on. My impression is that they were destitute. I suspect that a marker could not be afforded at that time.
