Old Time Winfield Resident is Dead
Winfield township residents and people of surrounding country mourn the death of Hans Thompson aged 81 years, a native of Norway who passed away at his farm home south of Amble last Monday. He lived in the vicinity for more than 40 years Funeral services held yesterday; internment Amble Cemetery.

Lakeview-Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Thompson, 75 of near Amble who died Thursday night, were held at 2 Sunday at the residence with burial in Amble Cemetery.
Surviving are 6 daughters Mrs.. Nora Holmburg of Coral, Mrs.. Ruth Nelson of Suttons Bay, Miss Selma and Rebecca both of Detroit, Mabel and Hazel at home; 3 sons- Thomas of Camp Custer, Otto of Comstock, and George of Amble; 2 grandchildren.

Anna Mabel Thompson, 83 passed away Friday.

Services for Anna Mabel Thompson, 83, Cedar Springs were held Monday at German Funeral Home, Howard City, the Rev. John Anderson officiating.  Interment was at Amble Cemetery. Miss Thompson died Friday at Cedar Springs Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born June 24, 1892 at Amble and lived her entire life in Amble, Trufant, and Cedar Springs. Survivors are 5 sisters; Mrs. Ruth Nelson Cedar Springs, Hazel, Selma, Rebecca Thompson, Mrs. Nora Holmberg all of Grand Rapids and a brother George, Kent City.

Hazel Thompson, 93

Howard City- Hazel Thompson, 93, of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, Jan. 14 2002, at Heartland Care Center, grand Rapids. She was born April 11, 1908 in Winfield township, the daughter of Hans and Lena Thompson.  Hazel worked most of her life for RC Allen Co.Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brother, Thomas, Alfred, George, and Otto, and five sisters, Maybell, Rebecca, Ruth, Thelma, and Nora. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Heckman-Mohnke funeral Home, Howard City, with Pastor Tom Ball officiating.  Burial is in Amble Cemetery Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from noon until the time of services at 1p.m.
